How to Make Money on Twitter - My Method== By Jelena Brokowitch

Twitters History
Twitter has become more and more popular over the years since the first tweet was posted on March 21st 2006. It now reaches approximately 190 million monthly visitors, making it one of the most visited social networking sites. This large amount of visitors has created a good marketing opportunity for businesses. Most of the ways that people make money on Twitter rely on the fact that companies will pay you for exposing their products or services to a large number of people.
Making money on Twitter
Direct advertisements - If you have a large number of people following you on twitter, then there are many companies that are willing to pay you to recommend or promote their products by saying things like 'I just found this brilliant new service, check it out!' Being paid for direct advertising will only work if you have a large amount of followers as businesses are only willing to pay you if their products are being exposed to enough people to make it worth their while. Paid Reviews - Like in direct advertising, doing paid reviews consist of recommending products or services in your tweets. The only difference is that instead of saying something like 'I just tried this amazing new online service, check it out' you would do an in-depth review of the product/service saying what it does and how to use it. You need a decent amount of followers to use this technique as, like the other techniques, companies will only pay if their product or service is exposed to enough people to bring them a profit. You do not have to post your review directly in a tweet; you can simply write it somewhere else and post the link in a tweet.
Contests -
Finally, doing sponsored contests are a great way of making money on Twitter, but only if you have a huge amount of followers. With sponsored contests you find a company that you wish to be sponsored by and, if they agree, you post a tweet saying something similar to 'which new features would you like to see in this product' or 'tell us why you like product x in 140 characters.' The product/service that you ask people to write about must be one of your sponsor's services/product. The person who comes up with the best answer then wins a prize from your sponsors. Companies are willing to pay you to do this as it makes people aware of their product. Also, if you use the 'which new features would you like to see in this product' example then it allows them to find out how they can improve their products/services. The reason you need a large number of followers for this to work is companies are only willing to pay you if the number of people who become aware of their product brings them more money than the amount they pay you. These are just a few of the popular techniques used to make money on Twitter. All of these techniques can be adapted to any other social networking sites if needed.
